Responsible for the welding of metal fabricated parts by utilizing various welding processes and positions within a shipbuilding environment. Welding assignments will consist of both fillet and butt welding.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be able to pass one structural butt welding assessment utilizing a SMAW welding process in one of the following welding positions - Vertical (3G), Horizontal (2G) and Overhead (4G). - Must have training with Flux Core or 1 year work experience as a welder using the Flux core process.

Preferred Qualifications:
Able to pass a structural butt welding assessment utilizing a Flux Core welding process in the three positions of Vertical (3G), Horizontal (2G) and Overhead (4G). - Training with Flux Core and minimum of 3 years work experience as a welder using the Flux Core Process. - Ability to arc gouge.
